Birthdays, Summer, the 4th of July: What Do You Celebrate?

The joke in my family has always been that we would celebrate the opening of a refrigerator. Yes, it's true. By nature, we love to celebrate. We will raise a toast at every possible opportunity. And, we, intentionally or not, seem to turn any meal into a festive gathering of two, four or more.

The gift of gratitude is one that can be shared with no limits and at no expense. With the arrival of summer and long, reflective walks along the river, I find myself especially aware of all for which I am grateful.

So, in a celebration of celebration, I'd like to share some with you and hope that you will, perhaps, choose to share some of yours with me.

  • The month of June. (I claim the entire month of June as my birthday month and remain open to celebrate throughout.)
  • The first day of the new season
  • Comfortable shoes
  • A hug
  • A sunny day with no humidity
  • A spray of my favorite fragrance
  • A fresh, creative, actionable idea
  • Creamy rice pudding (no raisins, please)
  • Sexy jeans
  • Burt's Bees lip balm
  • A book or movie that transports me
  • A shower with my favorite bath gel
  • Freshly squeezed fruit juice
  • Dearest family and friends
  • Invitations to share my life's work and help others achieve their dreams
  • Freedom - in all aspects of life

I'm grateful to you for allowing me to share my thoughts with you over this last year. Let's raise a toast to the wonders, excitement and celebrations of the year to come.
